Extracurricular Activities – Band Reviews
During term one and two I set up a Myspace and Twitter account detailing my aim, the aim to track down bands which are known to some but deserve to be known by many. I set my limits to be realistic, I was never going to get an interview with U2 and Lady Gaga, but I could get interviews with bands who had hit Radio 1 and peoples Itunes. I emailed, messaged and tweeted away to bands, artists and band members, and had a surprisingly high amount of responses. While many claimed they couldn’t due to managerial issues, a busy schedule or other objections, many bands responded well and as such I gained a good few interviews which got great reviews from students and even the bands themselves.
Saving Aimee, a well known UK band even took the time to read this very blog and email me a comment about it which is now displayed on the side of the blog. Term three has been hectic so I’ve neglected this for a while, but it’s brilliant work and one which I really enjoy doing.
